Oh, we read this in our literature book last year in Mrs. Moore's class at Walker Valley and I absolutely loved it. It was so sad though. The imagery really got me and I cried during class. It was such a good story though. The whole part where he left Doodle behind because he was bitter and it ended in his brother's death scared me because I know that I'm cruel to my siblings sometimes two and I would never want anything to happen them. I think it made me think more about the things I do and say to them.

I read this last year on my own. It really made me think about how us human beings can be so thoughtful in one moment and then so cruel in another.
