I am so lucky to have an amazing job at the best high school in the world with the most wonderful students (MOST of the time). Here I will share my musings, reflect on literature, and showcase cool assignments.
We were honored to have Sonja DuBois, Holocaust survivor, hidden child, spend the day with us on Thursday, April 3. Her story was compelling and moving and we so enjoyed getting to know her. She is pictured here with her husband, Ron.
Survivor of Sobibor
Pictured here are some of my students with Mr. Phillip Bialowitz, one of the ten living survivors of the Nazi extermination camp Sobibor. His son, Joe Bialowitz, is in the picture as well. It was an honor to hear Mr. Bialowitz speak.
Hey guys, if any of you are checking tonight, I got the estimate from the Illinois Company. It is going to be $2,687. That is just the planter, not any flowers or anything else. I am checking today with a couple of companies in Cleveland. Thoughts, anyone? I have called Rose Stone Company and a builder I know has mentioned being willing to build a form (not for free), then we could fill it. What do you all think???

Did you ever ask the other beta officers about using the club's money on the Memorial Garden?? I think it would be a good idea if we are going to need the money to complete the project, which I'm assuming we probably will. You may have already decided to use it?? But I don't know so I'm just asking.
